Different circular saw blades have different designs. Although you won't be able to cut a laminated board on-site as cleanly as the panel saw back in the workshop, it is possible to get a reasonable finish using a high-quality tungsten carbide tipped (TCT) blade.

The drawing below shows some of the basic design features of a typical TCT blade for a hand-held circular saw. Note that no single blade will have all of these features together - they have simply been combined in this drawing to show the range of features available.
