In this section we've talked about some of the injuries that tend to occur in the manufacturing industry. An understanding of the types of injuries that people are likely to suffer can help you to identify hazards more easily and assess the risks that they pose to workers.

See if you can remember which part of the body is injured most often in manufacturing industry accidents. Select from the drop down for the name of the body part to give it a Number 1 ranking. Then work your way down the list in order, finishing with the least injured part of the body. When you've completed your ranking, click on the 'Check your answers' button to see how you went.

Note that there are lots of other injuries that aren't included in this exercise, which is why the percentages won't add up to 100%. But the types of injuries listed here are all commonplace among manufacturing workers, so they need to be kept in mind when you're looking out for workplace hazards and thinking about ways to minimise them.
